Job Description:

  1. Conducting blower door and duct leakage tests for residential site inspections.
  2. Generating preliminary HERS reports during the estimate phase.
  3. Performing energy modeling using Ekotrope (can be trained) or other DOE approved software’s.
  4. Develop relationships with builders to assist with testing for Certificate of Occupancy.
  5. Maintaining the back-up files for IRS audits and the mandatory QAD review.
  6. A minimum of 1 year of experience conducting HERS ratings.
  7. A minimum of 50% of travel involved.
  8. HERS Rater Certification is required.
  9. Rental vehicle and travel expenses will be covered by the company. The HERS Rater must be in possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Tax Controversy

The Research and Development (“R&D”) Tax Credit division of Source Advisors seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Tax Controversy team. The Tax Controversy role is critical in representing Source Advisors’ clients before the IRS and state revenue agencies. The role will be involved in all aspects of the client’s IRS, audit, appeals representation. This may include collection and penalty abatement projects, reviewing and analyzing client data, preparing supporting documentation, preparing individuals for government interviews, and drafting written responses to the government’s requests. This position typically involves visiting the client location, interacting with company owners, touring client facilities, interviewing people involved in R&D, and communicating regularly with government employees. EXPERIENCE:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality
  • Conduct interviews with client management and staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and R&D efforts
  • Prepare clients’ employees for government interviews
  • Maintain active communication with client management and staff at all levels to manage expectations, gather required information, and ensure deadlines are met

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active Bar License
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or Software highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Must have a strong work ethic and high motivation and thrive in a high paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel

 

Research & Development Tax Credit Project Manager

The Research and Development (“R&D”) division of Source Advisors is seeking highly motivated individuals who are comfortable reviewing and understanding R&D activity in a wide variety of industries.  The Project Manager is responsible from start to finish on an R&D project. The Project Manager role is critical in helping Source Advisors’ clients identify, qualify and quantify R&D activities for federal and state R&D tax credits. The Project Manager will join our national team of dedicated R&D Tax Credit professionals. By properly identifying qualified research activities and associated costs, we help our clients maximize their investments in innovation and realize substantial tax savings.  A Project Manager’s main role is performing fieldwork related to qualifying and supporting Federal and State R&D credits. Fieldwork typically involves visiting the client location, interacting with company owners, touring client facilities, interviewing people involved in R&D, and gaining sufficient knowledge to qualify the R&D activity. The project manager is responsible for reviewing relevant facts, cost summary schedules, tax computations, and written reports.
