Alex Velazquez

Alex Velazquez has joined Source Advisors as Director of Tax Controversy within the R&D Department, reporting to Rachel Bishop. An attorney with nearly a decade of experience in tax credit and incentives advocacy, he has developed strategies for defending and optimizing studies involving the R&D Credit, 179D deduction, Employee Retention Credit, and other tax incentives. With expertise in all phases of exam defense—including audit management, appeals presentations, and settlement negotiations—Alex brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. He earned his law degree from the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at LSU, graduating with Law Review honors and distinction in legal writing.
