Business Process Analyst

(Full-time/Remote)

Salary: $45,000-$55,000/yr

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Process Analyst to optimize workflows and translate stakeholder needs into clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for SaaS development. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager (with a dotted line to the CTO), this role has no direct reports but collaborates closely with senior leadership. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in business analysis, strong Agile expertise, and excellent stakeholder management skills. This remote-friendly role offers the chance to drive process improvements and product innovation in financial and professional services. Experience with tax services is a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with production stakeholders to identify, map, and document business processes, workflows, and needs, differentiating clearly between required and nice-to-have elements.
  • Translate identified business processes and stakeholder needs into comprehensive, clear, and actionable Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to drive SaaS product development.
  • Plan and lead stakeholder meetings to gather insights, validate business requirements, and gain alignment across teams.
  • Facilitate and document stakeholder discussions to evaluate and capture business requirements for SaaS solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders regularly to ensure continuous alignment of business processes and technical solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in Financial Services or Professional Services. (Experience with Tax Services is beneficial but not required.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with documenting product requirement documents (PRDs) and translating business needs into detailed technical requirements.
  • Experience using tools such as Asana, Notion, Jira, Confluence, or similar.
  • Experience using flowchart tools such as Miro, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI) is beneficial but not required.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, with experience in Scrum or Kanban frameworks.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation—to clearly articulate complex processes and requirements.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex processes into clearly understandable requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, capable of facilitating clear communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a proven ability to optimize existing processes and workflows.
